Growing up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, I came to appreciate the beauty of wild and scenic areas at a very young age. Inspired by leading landscape photographers of the day, such as Eliot Porter, Ansel Adams and others, photography quickly became my roadmap for expressing the beauty and importance of such places. The past thirty-five years have allowed me to make photographs which are rich in emotion, contemplative in nature and share a small part of the intense beauty of the natural world that most people never experience.
